We talk a great deal about kits around these here parts. They are the driving force of a lot of what we do, only because we love to provide an easy product. A product that’s self containing, quick to begin, and smooth to get going right away. Many of you have overfull lives and to have a creative outlet, you need it to be easy. Or perhaps you don't have the bandwidth to source quality floss and frabic— it makes all the difference, trust me!

But those of you who have build a collection of materials, we always provide just the

Embroidery PDF patterns

These pattern PDF are always easy-to-print digital downloads. They provide all of the same instructions for completing a design. And there are quite a few in the shop that actually do not have a kit counterpart. Several designs are pattern-only in the shop. The pattern PDFs are more like mini booklet with a wealth of information for completing each design. I am also always available to answer any specific question you come across as you work through a pattern (or kit, of course).

Every PDF pattern download is several pages long and includes a variety of tips to enhance the process! It also contains the pattern which can be used over and over again and a supply list so you can source your own materials or you could even use whatever supplies you have on-hand. You could switch up the background fabric if you wanted to! The background fabric can be anything you have, similar to a cotton or linen style. You can even embroider on a tea towel, jute handbag, or tee shirt!

Here’s our top 5 Most Popular Embroidery PDF Patterns

1) Juniper Embroidery PDF Pattern — these simple patterns are the favorite by far! The kits are also best sellers across all platforms that we sell from.

Below is a sample section from the Juniper pattern. As you see, we go section by section as we work through the pattern! So if you already have the supplies, simply grab a pattern from the shop to do!

2) Hummingbird Embroidery Pattern PDF- definitely a best seller in the shop! Our customers LOVE the hummingbird pattern & it makes sense. It is a beautiful piece of artwork!

I had a customer do this hummingbird pattern on a pillow & it turned out so cute!

3) Berry Trio Embroidery pattern PDF- this one is one of our pattern only offerings in the shop & it’s a popular one! And it probably is because it’s THREE patterns in one bundle: Blackberry, Blueberry & Strawberry patterns to create a trio of art!

Rainbow Embroidery Kit Designs

Ready for some…

Rainbow Embroidery Kit Designs

because we have a few options if you love RAINBOWS!!! And frankly, we just love rainbows over here at Harvest Goods Co. We have several kits we’ll be highlighting in the this post!

1) The Blooming Rainbow Embroidery KIt

The first Rainbow kit we’ll be focusing on is Blooming Rainbow Kit. This kit is a celebration of biodynamic wine farming, a collaboration design with Gina of Lady of the Sunshine Wines. Did you know Harvest Goods Co designs art for wine labels?! We do!

And we just love Gina Giugni, the founder of Lady of the Sunshine Wine since 2017. Her wines are light, airy, and so delicious. It’s been a fun match made in heaven to create specific labels for her Central California wines. After she gets first dibs on these designs, we then create a specific kit to make available to our customers. In fact, we have another one happening this year, aiming for this summer!

The Blooming Rainbow kit pairs wonderfully with its parent label: the 2020 Rose! That’s right, grab a wine and get a kit & delight in them at the same time! This kit a wonderful beginner kit for sure! Simple and approachable but lovely for any home.

Next up, Kit #2 is..

2) Rainbow Mountains Embroidery Kit

This kit is also a collaboration with Lady of the Sunshine Wines. This pairs with the 2020 Gamay wine as it shows off this mountainous label. This kit is super simple lines inside my favorite oval hoop. There is such beauty in its simplicity.

Just below the Rainbow Mountains is a tiny line of flowers blooming. It’s petite and darling. A wonderful beginner kit, for sure! If you’re just starting out, I’d definitely recommend this embroidery kit. Simple and approachable but lovely for any home. And still so colorful!

Kit #3, okay so technically this isn’t a rainbow but this one still falls within the rainbow theme. The theme of hope and promise!

3) The Sunshine Embroidery Kit

This multi-dimensional kit is a sun shining brightly from behind the clouds. The puffy clouds are moving away and the sunshine is bringing that light and warmth. Like the sun coming back out after a storm. See why I’m including this one in the Rainbow Kit designs?! It’s just as cheerful and happy as our other two kits.

The sun will come out tomorrow as the good ol’ Annie song goes and here’s a beautiful reminder of that! I dare you not to smile. ;)

These three embroidery designs bring cheerfulness, joy, and warmth. This is our aim here at Harvest Goods Co and we hope to bring more designs that do that same. These designs are great for the winter blues, the anticipation of spring or the warmth of summer. They could be meditation or therapy after grief, depression, or loss.

We create goods that help you slow down and dwell on what is good and lovely.

Strawberry Embroidery Design

It’s April. It’s Spring. The sun is back! And we’re over the moon about all those things!

This month we released several things that bring joy, sunshine, and spring right to your doorstep.

Strawberry Embroidery Design

This month’s NEW subscription kit is called Mushroom Patch Kit. It has an adorable nod to gardens, growth, mushroom compost, and delicious strawberries. It is just SO cute!

Those plump strawberries are just my favorite thing ever. And the shadowing on the mushrooms add so much dimension to this design. This month’s design marks a noticeable change in our future designs. We hope to move towards more complex designs in our kits from here. Lots more detailed designs. Lots more complimentary colors. This kit has 8 different colored floss.

Our Mushroom Patch kit looks complex and overwhelming with all the detailed stitching but we break it down step-by-step in our PDF pattern and with the video tutorial on our embroidery channel. Our video shows in incredible detail how to complete this design. Be prepared to use whipped back stitch, French knots, long/short stitch, and satin stitch as well. We have video tutorials of each of these stitches on our embroidery channel as well!

Our other release this month is our Tutorial Tuesday design. Remember, every week we focus on a new stitch to perfect or learn with a mini hoop project at the end of the month to tie in all the stitches.

Wild Strawberry Blossom Embroidery Design

This month on our Tutorial Tuesday page, we cover Padded Satin Stitch, Stemmed French Knot, and Raised Stem Stitch. And the final project using those three stitches is this Wild Strawberry Blossom design on gorgeous sage linen fabric from Terra Textilia. This kit design was specifically created to pair with this month’s Mushroom Patch kit!

Our last berry love product put into the shop this month are these FUN mugs by Rainy from 5th Street Studio Ceramics. Rainy does amazing handmade work and we love having any opportunity to collaborate. This mugs are big enough for your morning coffee with a lovely splash of pink and speckled earth tones.

She did a limited run just for us and they are selling quickly!

This little special collection trio makes my Harvest Goods Co heart happy and we hope that you all enjoy the fruits of spring gardens and the love of sunshine and blossoms. Expect to see more of pairings and groupings in future embroidery kit designs. We hope to create designs that can be hung together or gifted together while you create something good and beautiful while you slow down just a little.

We are filling the shop up with ALL KINDS of goodies this month!!

Fabric Swatch Bundles

Each piece is at least 5in.x5in. but go to up 8in.x8in. each pack varies slightly in size but all 9 colors are available in each.

At Harvest Goods Co we invest in large quantities of fabric- typically sold in rolls to us- since we send so many kits out and need so many for creating new designs throughout the year. We’ve wanted to create mini bundles like this for awhile since it allows for so much versatility for you guys! It’s a great cross-section of potential fabric you can invest in on your own as you build your own supply!

These bundles pair perfectly with our Hoop Starter Kits.

If you want to build your own supply storage of hoops and fabric! Then all you really need (if you already have snips, a pen, and a needle), is a PDF pattern! We have several in our shop and by using your own fabric, you can have a background to your liking!

Each bundle offers high quality fabric- linen and cotton styles. Some of my beloved favorites from Terra Textilia company are included!! Her high quality linen is my favorite to use for our embroider kits and packs.

These bundles are a limited run and when they sell out, they’re gone! Grab one or a few before they’re all gone! In all truthfulness, I also planned to blog about our Spring Fat Quarter bundles that we also put in the shop, but they’ve already sold out twice in just two days! We actually only have a few more fabric swatch bundles left as of writing this, but make sure to check the shop to see if we have any left! Before they’re gone!!

Make sure to share any projects you complete using these fabric swatches! I always love seeing everyone’s work and ideas!! Tutorial Tuesday: Fishbone Stitch

The Fishbone Stitch

is the perfect stitch for filling in a shape, like a leaf or feather, when embroidering. This week for Tutorial Tuesday, we covering how to do this eye-appealing stitch!

Using 6 strands of floss, make a guide stitch from the top point of the lead to the center line.

Then starting on either side of the first stitch, stitch at a slight angle and overlap the end of the first ever so slightly. Each stitch should move down the leaf just a little bit. Switch sides with every stitch all the way down the leaf.

It ends up creating this beautiful, textured leaf!

Tutorial Tuesdays: Seed Stitch

Another Tutorial Video coming your way! This week’s Tutorial Tuesday covers the Seed Stitch.

It’s like little seeds or confetti sprinkled over your fabric for cute little details of delight! It may remind you of another stitch we’ve already covered and you’d be right! It’s the short stitch but with greater technique! Gradients are great ways to add depth and dimensions to your embroidery work! It basically levels you up.

This week we are working on seed stitch! To begin, use 6 strands of floss and fill in the first square with short stitches in various directions. It should look like confetti or sprinkles evenly through out your square. Try to keep all of your stitches similar in size.

Next we are going to practice a gradient. Keep your stitches tighter together at the top of the square and space them out as you move down the square. Keep the directions of each stitch varied throughout.

Finally we will practice a central gradient. Keep the stitches close together in the center of the square, and as you move outward, the stitches should become farther and farther apart.

Wahoo! See you next week!

Don’t forget to grab your FREE Tutorial Tuesday download pdf and our supply kits for this month’s activities! All the supplies used for these tutorials are below!!

Wildflower Embroidery Kit Design

Wildflower Embroidery Kit Design

Most of my embroidery kit designs are inspired by my life. This bundle of earthly colors and textures has long been a favorite of mine.

This wildflower kit design was inspired by my daughter. She loves to collect flowers. She always puts together the most delightful bundle of wildflowers she picks. We put some water into mason jars and place her wildflowers in the jar. The make-shift vase holds a predominate place on our kitchen table often. She loves looking at them, pointing out the different flowers, and smelling their fresh fragrance. It is the cutest thing.

Tiny Bow Posy embroidery grew out of these sweet moments and I love how the design turned out. It’s been a staple kit in our shop ever since. This bouquet of wildflowers has goldenrod, and daisies.

If you are feeling intimidated by embroidery, a kit a lovely place to start, with all the materials and info down to what colors and stitches to use, loads of photos, and step-by-step instruction, you’ll be stitching like a pro in no time!

Remember we’re having our HUGE kit sale this whole, entire month!! There is only less than a week left of enjoying these beautiful kits at HALF OFF. The Tiny Bow Posy is a great one to start with and a great gift for your flower loving friend.

Tutorial Tuesday: Chain Stitch

Welcome to February’s Tutorial Tuesdays!! We’re ready for more stitches to improve and a new mini project that brings them all together!

This week is the Chain Stitch

It’s an easy one to do, but looks complicated with its interlocking appearance.

This week we’re working the chain stitch. Here I am using 3 strands of floss.

Start by pulling your floss all the way through the fabric until the knot catches, then run your needle through the same spot and pull the floss through. This creates the loop!

Before pulling your floss all the way through, bring the needle through the loop, about one stitch lengths away from the beginning of your loop. Then pull the floss through, and that is the beginning of your next loop. Repeat this over and over! Experiment with different stitch length as you fill in the line.

As you practice the other shapes, keep your stitches short and tight around the curves. The tighter the curve, the smaller your stitches should be.

You did it! Join us next week for another fun stitch!

Don’t forget to grab your February free download for Tutorial Tuesdays and our $12 supply kit for this month’s tutorials!!

The actual story of inspiring of this little white cottage is when I was first married and our oldest was just a baby. We were living in a rural spot among the Blue Mountains and from our kitchen view, I could see this little adorable white house. It was a time of simply joy and pleasures. Barn Owl & Buttercups Kit Tutorial Step-by-Step

So many good things are coming down the pipeline this year. I’ve been so excited to share with you all each and every week for Tutorial Tuesdays Stitch Alongs and the monthly kit subscriptions tutorials. It’s been a whirlwind already!

Barn Owl & Buttercups Kit Video Tutorial

This winter bird kit for February was so fun to create! White Barn Owls definitely bring cold, snowy winter days to mind as they forage the frozen ground for nourishment. It was fun to bring this idea to life!

Enjoy your February kit & DON’T FORGET to tag me on Insta so I can see all of your beautiful creations!

Tutorial Tuesday: French Knot Stitch

We are back with our LAST stitch tutorial for January’s Tutorial Tuesdays before we undergo the mini project! The French Knot, while the name gives way to the French country of delicate and fashionable, originates way back to ancient Chinese embroidery! The first concept of the embroidered knot is known as the Pekin knot. Who knew?!

FRENCH KNOT EMBROIDERY TUTORIAL

Below the video tutorial covering the French Knot and the text within the video! Enjoy working on your French Knot!

Stitching a French Knot is so simple! Pull your thread through the fabric, pinch and pull tight the 2 inches closest to the fabric, and wrap it around your needle once. Then put your needle back into the fabric, keeping the floss tight, and gently pull the floss through. I’m starting with 2 strands of 3011 to practice tiny knots.

With each knot on the top row, add one more wrap around the needle to give each knot a bit more bulk.

Repeat these steps with 4 strands of 950, and 6 strands of 934.

Of course you have to boop your knot to make it official.
